Ableton Live 9 is a popular DAW among producers. The DAW is especially useful for editing audio, and mixing and mastering tracks. As the name suggests, the software can be used “live” and has every capability to enable a smooth workflow during live performances. Its simple interface and clean design reduces the clutter significantly. However many beginners initially find the session view intimidating. The session view is the default view in Ableton. A more familiar environment for most producers is the arrangement view which makes arrangement of patterns really easy.

Ableton comes with powerful packs, audio effects, and plug-ins. Ableton Live 9 Suite users also get free access to resources in their online library and access to a great community. Max for Live is one such example of a free tool. Max for Live increases the possibilities of the DAW by supporting MIDI instruments and many other devices. The drum rack is another popular utility in Ableton, which is absent in DAWs such as FL Studio.
